Recently, the Union Public Service Commission released the results for UPSC CSE Exams 2023 on the 16th of April, 2024. The CSE results declared Aditya Srivastava the UPSC Topper by scoring 1099 Marks. His hard work and efforts paid off with this outcome as he secured the first rank ‘AIR 1' in the UPSC CSE 2023 Examination on his second attempt.

Who is Aditya Srivastava?

The UPSC 2023 topper, Aditya Srivastava, is originally from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. His academic history is stellar. He graduated from IIT Kanpur with a double degree in electrical engineering and might be a gold medalist as well. 

He completed his schooling at City Montessori School, Aliganj Branch in Lucknow by securing a brilliant score of 95%. From then on, he started his journey towards a successful path. 

Aditya Srivastava is currently focused on completing his IPS training at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad.  

What was his motivation behind choosing the Civil Service Path?

Before having the determination to achieve the civil service path, Aditya Srivastava spent 15 months working at Goldman Sachs. Working there ignited the inspiration to do something at a more fundamental level in society, hence he started his UPSC CSE Journey. 

In an Interview, Aditya Srivastava admitted he wished to ‘uplift the system' and that will be possible by being part of the system and working at a grassroots level. 

It wasn't an impulsive decision for him but rather a well-thought-out and determined plan to pursue his career in the Indian Administrative Service. The UPSC Result for the CSE examination made his dream come true. 

He emerged as the UPSC Topper overcoming any and every hurdle in his path and will aim to contribute his support and efforts in the betterment of the system. 

Some Insights on Aditya Srivastava's Perspective 

In an Interview, Aditya Srivastava shared how while working for 15 months at Goldman Sachs, he realised that the monetary aspect wasn't the greatest motivation factor for him. He needed to rise above that and do something for the welfare of the society. 

That's when he started to dream about the civil service and saw himself filling the role of Indian Administrative Service (IAS).  His goal of contributing positively to the system was going to be fulfilled with the Civil Service only. He wanted to have an impact on the system on a grassroots level. 

2023 UPSC Topper, Aditya Srivastava's desire to contribute to society beyond any financial goal paired with his academic brilliance makes him worthy of his AIR 1 Rank.
